Grenada - One of the best citizenship solutions

In a recent article by Imagine Magazine, Grenada's Citizenship by Investment Programme and the Kimpton Kawana Bay real estate investment are mentioned as the preferred option of choice for acquiring a solid international investment and a second passport.

For the increasing number of investors looking to diversify their passport portfolios, the Citizenship by Investment (CBI) programmes offered by some Caribbean governments are among the most affordable in the world.

In terms of its visa-free access to the world's largest consumer markets, including the UK, the Schengen area, Brazil and China, Grenada's recently revitalised programme is unrivalled.

Grenada's CBI Programme - Key Benefits
Some of the main benefits of Grenada's CBI programme are that investors do not have to reside in Grenada or renounce any citizenship that they already own (subject to the laws of their current citizenships). To acquire the Grenadian passport, prospective applicants do not have to visit the island either. Passports have a validity of five years and may be renewed, as Grenada citizenship is for life.

The only current investment option that is eligible under the CBI Programme is through a direct investment in an approved section 11 project, like the one we are developing at Kimpton Kawana Bay. Property acquired must be a minimum cost of USD $ 350,000. The investment must be held for a minimum of 3 years, one of the shortest property holds of any citizenship programme.

U.S. E-2 Visa Treaty
Furthermore, Grenada is also the only country in the world with an active CBI programme and an E-2 Investor Visa treaty with the US, which allows for entrepreneurs who are approved to reside in the USA.

The Kimpton Kawana Bay Real Estate Investment Project
The 5-Star resort development offers a choice of 1-bedroom freehold studios to large penthouse suites, all of which front on to Grand Anse Beach, ranked in the top 30 of CNN's 'World's 100 Best Beaches'.

All Kimpton Kawana Bay properties are offered under the Grenadian Citizenship by Investment Programme, and this real estate investment option is one of the few that is directly endorsed by the Grenadian government. Investors acquire citizenship on purchase, together with their spouses and dependents.

Owners have up to two weeks' free use of the acquired property each year; for the remaining time it is put into the hotel rental pool to secure a return on their behalf. Investors will share in all hotel room revenues (after deduction of certain costs). Research into the current market demand suggests that owners can expect a good return on their investment once the hotel opens in 2019.
